I'm an admirer, first came across you via a link on francis-bacon.cx. I notice you work on an extremely large scale - how much would you say an individual painting costs you to actually produce (with materials etc...) I ask because I'm an art student, and would dearly love to be so ambitious where it not for destitution! And I'm just curious, since I know full-well the cost of paints. Do you source materials directly from suppliers to avoid excess cost?

I have a question that's been bothering me for a while about Helnwein's art. Does anyone know if he creates his paintings from scratch, or does he print out enlargements of his photos and add texture over them?
